Digitalization is powered by Data Centers; it offers opportunities to improve resource efficiency in every business, data are future for every activity, increase profits, agility and the productivity. However, data centers are huge energy guzzlers and do require uninterrupted power for throughout their operations. Today owing to stringent environmental norms which would further be tightened due to negative impacts of climate change. Hence, there is a dire need to institutionalise framework for Data Centers which can facilitate lowest energy usage and 100% green power supply. The inaugural session would address challenges which are prevalent both in energy efficiency and green power. The State and Central Government officials would brief about the policies set to enable the DC industry while transforming to achieve Net Zero Status.

Panel discussion would support to explore deeper understanding about the business trends in the data center industry with respect to operators (colocation/enterprise/edge data centers), technological solutions available to bridge the gap between the emerging technologies and solutions, fast track growth of DCs owing to policies and provision of single window clearances from the Govt to facilitate the growth. Further, financing mechanisms would be discussed to exceed the target sets for achieving green growth and to accelerate the vision for Net Zero.

Off-Set Carbon Footprint in Data Centers: Future of Data Center Businesses
Use of green power in Data Centers will spur very significantly in the coming years. Renewable Energy Policies are being refined by the State and Central Government, to offer benefits to Data Centers. Key measures would be introduced to source 50-70% of green power for every data centers. An elite group of senior industry leaders/veterans meet annually to brainstorm for the future solutions, to contribute for the growth of Indian Data Centers. This is the 3rd Advisory Group Meeting; first meeting had held at Infosys Campus Bangalore and 2nd meeting had held at Taj West End in Bangalore.
It is expected that India would be the Global Data Center Hub. Considering this, it is well versed that there are immense opportunities for all DCs, service providers, DC experts etc. however, there are equal or more challenges to build tomorrow’s DC solutions. Members will share challenges and brainstorming will enable to put efforts to resolve/solve some of the issues in 2022-23 with regard technological obstacles, policy issues and advancements, to pave the path for Net Zero Data Centers by 2030

Hyperscale Data Centres (10,000 sqm or more of white space, with power in the range of 25 MW or more) are advanced DC projects which provide the space, power, cooling, and the network infrastructure essential to support the mass scale requirements of data and cloud computing.
